Nalanda College Art Society has begun accepting articles for the next issue of the " KALA GAWESHANA " magazine, published tri-monthly.
Congratulations to P.K.Bisandu Dulmira who has been able to honord the reputation of Mother Nalanda by getting the First Place in the Digital Art Section of AviaNextGen'24 in Art Competition Organized by the All Island Aviators Association.
The National Housing Development Authority successfully conducted the All Ceylon School Art Competition on World Habitat Day 2024. MTG Amita Chandrabhanu of Tholangamu won the first position in the post-primary category by displaying exceptional talent and creativity. This achievement highlights the dedication and talent of the child artist, gaining recognition in a prestigious national competition.
Warm congratulations go to Desandu Chanthusa Jayasinghe, a proud son of Nalanda College, for his remarkable achievement in winning honors at the prestigious World Environment Children's Drawing Competition held in Japan. His artistic talents have brought pride to both his school and country.
The Wonder Walls art exhibition, organized by the Nalanda College Art Society, recently concluded successfully. This year’s event was spearheaded by two talented students, Yasiru Mandara and Kavishka Uvasara, who brought their creative vision to life through a diverse display of artworks. The exhibition attracted a large audience, celebrating the students' artistic talents and leaving a lasting impression on attendees.
The Art Association of the College has prepared all the arrangements to hold the WONDER WALLS art exhibition, which is held for the first and only time among all schools in Sri Lanka, at the Jinedradasa Mandir of the college.
The aim of this exhibition is to produce young artists and bequeath to the world a generation from Nalanda with a good personality, and a new way of thinking with artistic abilities.
This art exhibition will be held by the two students Kavishka Uvasara and Yasiru Mandara.
All the students studying in our college are invited to hold this exhibition in the future and we are ready to show your creations to the whole world.
The Art Society of Nalanda College proudly presents "IMAGINIQUE'24," an inter-school graphic designing competition open to all students from grades 6 to 13 across Sri Lanka. Nalanda College students achieved significant success at the Acron Art Olympiad 2024, a painting competition held among school students in the Colombo region. Sponsored by Pidilite Lanka Private Company, the event saw several students from Nalanda College winning multiple prizes.
The final round of the competition took place on August 20, 2024, at the Colombo Public Library Auditorium. Among those recognized for their exceptional skills were Themita Prabhashana Kumarasinghe, D.B.M. Thennakone, K.V. Sithman Vijayakeerthi, and Adeepa Sakvithi Gajendra. Their achievements have brought pride to Nalanda College.

The first issue of the tri-monthly magazine published by Nalanda College Art Society has been published on their official website. The specialty here is the processing of letters received here by the Nalandians studying in grades 6 to 13. Simply put, this is a timely step for the advancement of art in Sri Lanka and apart from recommending school art, it contains a wealth of information on Sri Lankan art including various literary artists and their works.
